So I woke up yesterday morning feeling kinda blah about romance lately. Grabbed my coffee, opened my laptop, and remembered my Taurus horoscope for April 22nd was supposed to have love insights. Thought what the heck – might as well try following it step by step just to see.
First Thing I Did
Opened my journal app fresh like the horoscope suggested. Wrote down “Venus in Taurus means open up to new connections” at the top. Almost closed it right there honestly, but made myself add “text Alex?” under it. We’d had that awkward pause after two dates.
The Actual Experiment Part
Went to that indie bookstore downtown around noon like the stars said to. Browsed poetry section deliberately slow. When that guy in glasses dropped his books near me? I actually picked them up instead of pretending not to see. We chatted about Neruda for like 15 minutes – wild for me since I usually bolt after “hi”.
- Did the Venus thing: Shared about losing my dog last month when he mentioned pets
- Ignored my habit: Didn’t check phone once while talking
- Took the leap: Said “we should debate sonnets over coffee sometime” first
Evening Twist Nobody Expected
Got home feeling proud for trying. Then Alex’s text popped up at exactly 7:05PM like the horoscope predicted timing mattered. Weird how that worked. He apologized for ghosting. We video-called and actually sorted things out properly. Made plans for Saturday.
Now here’s the kicker – bookstore guy messaged this morning. And Alex suddenly feels interested again. Might’ve accidentally manifested too much cosmic energy! Shoulda been more specific in that journal entry.
Point is: even an old skeptic like me gotta admit – when you actually do the stuff horoscopes suggest instead of just reading, life gets interesting. Messy sometimes? Sure. But never boring.
